BOAZ, AL (WAFF) - A Boaz man is collecting signatures for a petition that would give voters the chance to say if they want alcohol sold in their town.
In 2008, Arab voters elected to make alcohol sales legal in their town.
Now, John Thompson wants the same for Boaz.
He's started a petition to have the issue put on the ballot this year and needs just over 500 signatures.
Thompson hopes to have all the signatures and paperwork turned in by July Fourth for voters to decide in the November general election.
