HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Alabama governor Bob Riley stopped by Muscle Shoals this afternoon to discuss an on-going problem there with a local road.
The governor met with local legislators behind closed doors before addressing the media on Highway 133.
Residents along the road have refused to sell their land to the Alabama DOT for road expansion.
Riley hopes to kick start the project and the states plans in a few months, but agreements still need to be reached.
"The only way its going to happen is for everyone one us to re-look at it. It has reached an impasse and it is not moving," Riley said.
The group of legislators is planning on re-submitting a revised plan for the project in the next few weeks.
