LEXINGTON, AL (WAFF) – The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department has identified the three victims in Sunday night's double murder suicide.

An apparent love triangle is believed to be the motive that left 37-year-old Jackie Dwight Robertson, his nephew, 23-year-old Jamie Earl Robertson, and Jackie's wife, 27-year-old April Lynn Robertson dead.

Authorities said Jackie Robertson's nephew had recently moved into his house, a short time later, investigators believe his nephew started a relationship with his wife.

The two moved out, but before leaving Jackie sent them off with a warning. "He told them they better not come back to their house together," said Lauderdale County Sheriff Ronnie Willis.

On Sunday, a day before the bodies were discovered, investigators said April contacted Jackie Robertson by text message and told him she was coming to pick up the couple's two children with Jamie at Jackie's house near Lexington.

"He was waiting outside on them and when they pulled up in the driveway," said Willis. "That's when he shot through the front windshield."

Family members found April and Jamie still inside Jamie's vehicle with single gunshot wounds and Jackie's body was found laying next to the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the chest.
