ATHENS, AL (WAFF) – A man is jailed on burglary charges connected to thefts from storage units in Limestone County.

Athens police arrested Richard Todd Crowe Tuesday afternoon after an officer spotted him loading a plastic storage container into a truck at M&J Mini Storage on Highway 72.

Police spotted bolt cutters and several pad locks that had cut in Crowe's truck.

Investigators searched Crowe's home on Dupree Hollow Road in Lester and recovered property that had been stolen from storage units.

Investigators say Crowe had already sold or traded some of the stolen merchandise.

Crowe had been charged with six counts of Burglary 3rd Degree and one count of Possession of Burglary tools.

The stolen items have been taken to the Sheriff's office until it can be returned to the rightful owners.
