University of North Alabama head baseball coach Mike Keehn has announced the signing of three players in the early signing period for the 2010-2011 season.
Joining the Lions will be two high school players and one community college transfer.
Chandler Guy from Beauregard High School, Josh Carpenter from Sparkman High School, and Tyler Richardson from East Mississippi Community College all signed early with the Lions.
Guy is an outfielder who hit .294 last season with three home runs, 25 runs batted in, and
36 runs scored. According to Keehn, "Chandler is a good runner that will fit in well with our system. He plays the game hard and has a chance to contribute as a freshman next season since he is a switch hitter."
Carpenter, a shortstop from Sparkman High School, is a player that Keehn feels is one of the top shortstops in the state. He was named honorable mention on the Huntsville Times Elite team as well as a finalist on the East-West All-Star team.
Richardson is the only community college player to sign early with the Lions.
Richardson will be the ace for EMCC this coming season and according to Keehn, will bring a strong arm and lots of talent to UNA on top of being an excellent student.
