JSU Football Continues Climb in Top 25 Polls

Jacksonville State continues to climb in both FCS Football Top 25 polls and is ranked for the tenth consecutive week, which is the longest in the school's Division I history.

The Gamecocks jumped up five spots and is currently ranked No. 15 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 17 in The Sports Network poll. The 10 straight weeks ranked in the poll is a school Division I record for most consecutive weeks ranked in the polls during a season.

Jax State, which defeated Austin Peay 28-10 on Saturday, continues to be lead by a Gamecock defense that leads the Ohio Valley Conference in turnover margin, scoring defense, pass defense, total defense, pass defense efficiency, opponent first downs, opponent third down conversion and opponent fourth down conversions.

Richmond remained No. 1 in both polls, while Ohio Valley Conference member Eastern Illinois is ranked No. 13 in the FCS Coaches poll and No. 14 in The Sports Network poll.

JSU returns to action this weekend at Southeast Missouri State. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., and the game can be heard on the JSU Sports Network at 12:30 p.m.
