DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - A suspected meth manufacturer ended up in the Morgan County jail despite a frantic, futile attempt to elude arrest.

Sheriff's deputies who tried to serve arrest warrants Sunday at Marthan Eads' home on Turner Lane wounded up getting a door slammed in their face.

Eads then ran to a back bedroom where she tried to destroy a meth lab according to a sheriff's department news release.

Deputies could smell a strong chemical odor when they finally got inside the home.  They also found burned components of a "shake and bake" meth lab in a burn barrel.

Another active meth lab was also found as well as a quantity of finished product along with several precursor ingredients including a 50 pound bag of ammonium nitrate.

Eads was arrested on charges of Unlawful Manufacturing 1st degree and Unlawful possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The 45-year-old woman was taken to the Morgan County jail where her bond was set at $60,500.
