TRIANA, AL (WAFF) - A new temporary home is in the works for a library destroyed by fire in Triana.
The city will allow the library to use space in a vacant office building on 6th Street while a Boys and Girls Club that suffered smoke and water damage in the September 20th fire will set up shop in the gymnasium at the Triana Municipal Building.
According to Library officials, the fire was caused by an electrical problem.
The fire destroyed $88,000 worth of books and material while officials are still totaling up damages to computers and furniture.
A building fund has been set up to help with building a new library. Donations can be made at 1st Commercial Bank c/o the Town of Triana Library, Boys and Girls Building Fund.
Library officials hope to resume operations in their temporary home within a couple of weeks.
