TRIANA, AL (WAFF) - An investigation is underway into a fire that destroyed the Triana Public Library.

Firefighters worked into Monday morning trying to contain the fire in the 800 square-foot facility.

The fire destroyed the building, along with a collection of 6,362 items and three computers used to provide internet access to the public.

The fire also caused a significant amount of smoke and water damage to the Boys and Girls Club.

Insurance adjusters are meeting with the Boys and Girls Club about the damage.

Library officials say they are looking at alternative locations for the library with a goal of restoring library service to Triana as soon as possible.
