DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Former Decatur police officer Faron White will be sentenced September 22nd on federal charges.
White pleaded guilty in March to federal charges involving his theft of more than $2,500 in police department funds.
He was caught in Las Vegas in January, just days after he faked his own abduction from the police department.
Decatur police say White stole more than $2,500 from the department and then staged a struggle at his office before fleeing to Nevada.
White remains in federal custody in the Shelby County Jail pending his sentencing hearing in Huntsville in 11 days.
