Judge makes pre-trial ruling in Shipp case

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A judge made a ruling Thursday that will affect the jury panel of a man charged with killing a police officer.

Kenneth Shipp was charged in connection with the slaying of Huntsville Police Officer Eric Freeman, who was shot and killed in south Huntsville in December of 2007.

The judge over the case has ruled in favor of a motion that will disqualify jurors who say they will automatically vote in favor of the death penalty if Shipp is found guilty.
