Overnight storms cause damage in the Shoals

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - Overnight storms swept through, bringing down trees all across the valley. The storms came up quickly and blew over almost as quickly.

The high winds brought down trees all across Florence.   At least two trees landed on homes, including one on Decatur Ave.  It was a large tree, about 100 feet tall.   It actually landed on the home's utility box, which started to smoke. Utility crews had to rush out there to turn the power off.

Over on Dayton St, a smaller tree took out a home's porch. The reside told WAFF 48 News, "A big wind come up, and me and my wife was back in the bedroom back there, and this big tree was twisted around this way and it went back this way, and then i heard a loud noise and the neighbors come running over here.
