Overnight crash leaves behind a mystery

ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - An overnight wreck in Limestone Co. leaves volunteer firefighters with a mystery. It happened around 11 Wednesday night on Segers Rd. near the Segers Volunteer Fire Department.

Emergency crews who responded say they were concerned because the vehicle was severely damaged, and there were baby bottles with milk in them inside the vehicle. They were worried that a baby was in the vehicle, and they also couldn't find the driver. Rescue workers searched the area for over an hour.

Neighbors say they didn't even hear the crash, which took out two mailboxes and two trash cans. The driver apparently walked away from the scene after the crash.
