WASHINGTON (AP) - Two Alabama high school students are among 141 from across the nation selected as 2009 Presidential Scholars.
The announcement was made Monday by Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan.
This year's winners were Lauren E. Faraino of Vestavia Hills High School and Nikhil Goel of Grissom High School in Huntsville.
The prestigious Presidential Scholars program has honored the nation's outstanding high school seniors since 1964.
Faraino and Goel will be honored at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., in late June.
