
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - The Democratic side of the 5th Congressional District race is beginning to take shape.
State Sen. Parker Griffith of Huntsville announced Friday that he will run. And Public Service Commissioner Susan Parker of Rogersville announced she won't.
Two other Democrats, state Rep. Tammy Irons of Florence and state Rep. John Robinson of Scottsboro, said Friday they are receiving encouragement to run and will make a decision soon.
The Democratic incumbent, Bud Cramer of Huntsville, decided to retire after nine terms in Washington.
