Car accident kills two people, injures others

Alabama State Police released the names of those involved in a fatal accident in Lawrence County.  

Two people were killed in the wreck, which happened shortly before 6:00 last night at the intersection of Highways 36 and 157 in Speake.

39-year-old Christopher Orr of Hartselle, and his passenger, 39-year-old John Brown of Decatur, died in the accident.

60-year-old Frankie Bates and his passengers, 28-year-old Amanda Burney, 12-year-old Katlin Burney, and 10-year-old Matthew Thompson, were all injured.  

Matthew was flown to Huntsville Hospital by medflight.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation this morning.
