Investigators with the Huntsville Police Department have arrested and charged a 22-year-old man with the rape and sodomy of an 11-year-old girl.

Spokesman Wendell Johnson said Investigators charged Zephrus Strickland of Vining Avenue with 1st degree rape and 1st degree sodomy and booked him into the Madison County Metro Jail today.

Johnson said Strickland allegedly committed the crime about 8:30 last night at Shepherd and Vining Avenue.

The victim was attending a attending a Halloween party with her family when the attack happened.

Bond for Strickland has been set at $120,000.
