Groundbreaking For New Huntsville High School

Apr. 8 - Breaking ground on education and remembering the past.

That groundbreaking ceremony is the first step in a project that will end with a brand new school. It's name: Columbia High School.

The school's name, of course, in memory of the Columbia shuttle. Seven atronauts died February 1st 2003 when the shuttle broke apart during re-entry.

The new school will be located on Explorer Boulevard in the Research Park area.

Valley officials will be on hand to break ground at 9 am.

Columbia High School won't be the first named after a NASA shuttle, some Huntsville students already attend Challenger Elementary School.
