FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - Three Florence City School employees are on paid administrative leave after allegations arose of wrong doing.
The incidents happened at two schools, in two separate incidents.
One employee was put on leave from Weeden Elementary, and the other two were sent home from Florence Middle School/Freshmen Center.
"We need to have employees that we can trust," said Kendy Behrends, Florence City School Superintendent.
Behrends said due to school policy the names of the employees can not be released. She did confirm they are not teachers, but are members of the support staff.
"It was about two weeks ago when these things were brought to my attention," said Behrends.
She could not go into detail about what the employees did.
"It was misuse of school property," said Behrends.
The three employees will have a limited time to request a conference with the school board. They have to do this before the October 15th school board meeting.
If they do not, then Behrends said she will recommend termination.
"It disappoints me," she added, "when anything like this happens. It's very disappointing. It's sad."
Behrends said after an internal investigation is complete, they may contact the Florence Police Department if they feel any laws were broken.
