Construction on S. Memorial Parkway nears end

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The construction on South Memorial Parkway is nearly complete. City engineers said the project should be open by January of 2009.

Meanwhile, construction on North Memorial Parkway will begin in the next few weeks. Businesses on the busy road are anxious for the overpasses to be in use.

"We're excited about getting it done because just having the access road since we've been open has been pretty inconvenient," said Mark Rizk with All Pro Marine. "The traffic backs up here a lot on the access road."

Turn-arounds on North Memorial Parkway will be closed during construction. The projected completion date for that project is October of 2012.
