  • If you experience discomfort, swelling and varicose veins in your legs, you may be suffering from superficial venous reflux disease. Approximately 25 million people in the United States suffer from venous reflux. Traditionally patients diagnosed with venous reflux would undergo varicose vein stripping surgery.

  • Sclerotherapy is used to correct unwanted and unsightly veins both large and small in size.  From the small purple veins to the largest ropey varicose veins, sclerotherapy is a procedure in which a sclerosing solution is directly injected into the vein with a very small needle followed by compression at the site of injection. This causes the vein to close and the body naturally removes it.

  • Ambulatory phlebectomy is a method of removing varicose veins on the surface of the legs. This procedure is for medium to large varicose veins. It is done in the office under local anesthesia. This procedure involves making tiny punctures or incisions through which the varicose veins are removed.
