Overnight car accident claims the life of Valley man

Updated:

One person is dead this morning after a wreck in front of Calhoun Community College on Highway 31.   Alabama State Troopers say the car actually landed on the front lawn of the College.

It happened shortly after 1:00 a.m. today.

Troopers say Corey Montez Kennedy of Decatur was headed southbound on Highway 31 when he lost control of his car.

They say he crossed both southbound lanes, hit the ditch in the middle of the road, and the car started to flip over.

Then the car continued to cross the northbound lanes before landing upright on the front lawn of Calhoun College.

Troopers say Kennedy was ejected from the car.   He was pronounced dead at the scene.
