DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -
Morgan County Deputies located the person of interest accused of cutting another man's throat.
Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin said 19-year-old Jeremy West cut 20-year-old Justin Sullivan somewhere on Maddox Road around midnight.
Franklin said the two men were in a 1995 Honda Civic. It's not clear if the cutting happened inside the car.
Franklin said Sullivan walked to a nearby house to get help. The people who lived there called 911 and then Sullivan passed out, according to the sheriff.
Sullivan was flown to Huntsville Hospital where he was rushed into emergency surgery. He is listed in serious condition.
West fled the scene in the Honda and was later located in Cullman County Thursday afternoon.
Officials say at this point, West is being called a person of interest and has not been formally arrested in this investigation.
