"Ten Commandments Judge" in the Heart of the Valley

The Ten Commandments judge was in the Heart of the Valley Thursday night, and the Ten Commandments are back in the Alabama Judicial Building.

The Christian Coalition of Alabama is happy the Ten Commandments are once again publicly displayed in the Alabama Judicial Building, but Roy Moore isn't quite as impressed.

The display isn't the same 5,300 pound monument Moore had placed in the rotunda of the judicial building. This Ten Commandments display is part of an exhibit with seven other historical documents that helped form the basis for western law.

The former Chief Justice was in the Heart of the Valley Thursday night touring the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. He says the display in the judicial building is more of a museum piece than it is an acknowledgment of God.

"They've reduced the acknowledgment of God to a historical display and instead of moving it in a closet they have surrounded it with historical documents to reduce it to a museum setting," he said.

Moore is presently focused on his appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court in an effort to get his job back. As to rumors he might run for President in November, Moore told WAFF 48 News he has no plans to run for any political office "at this time."
