(AP) - The Blount (blunt) County sheriff's office says preliminary results of autopsies on the bodies of a couple found dead in their home in Louisville (LEW'-ihs-vil) show their deaths are consistent with murder-suicide. Marian O'Briant says t appears 54-year-old Steven Adkins shot 53-year-old Rebecca Adkins, then shot himself.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Fire officials say a man's body was found in a burned house in Memphis but they are not yet releasing his identity. The Memphis Fire Department says 35 firefighters and other emergency personnel responded to a blaze Monday morning at a one-story house in the Uptown neighborhood.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Nashville Predators have signed forward Mark Van Guilder to a 2-year, two-way contract. The 29-year-old Van Guilder had 14 goals and 18 assists for the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals this season. He has 84 points in 241 career AHL games.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Belmont has found its new women's basketball coach in Cameron Newbauer, who reached the NCAA championship game this past season as an assistant at Louisville. Newbauer was introduced as Belmont's new coach on Monday, replacing Brittney Ezell after Ezell took over East Tennessee State's program.
