LINCOLN COUNTY, TN (WAFF) - Jacob Shaffer returned to court in Lincoln County Tuesday afternoon.
He wore a bullet proof vest as he listened to testimony about the July 2009 murders of five people in Lincoln County.
Three deputies testified about the crime scene. Defense attorneys are trying to keep evidence about bloody shirts out of Shaffer's upcoming trial.
They also want to suppress any statement Shaffer may have made before he was informed of his rights.
So far, no word on a ruling. Shaffer's trial is set for January.
The jurors will be selected from outside Lincoln County.
