FALKVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A traffic stop in Falkville put a convicted sex offender who had been living in Alabama since 2006 behind bars.

Morgan County Sheriff Investigators along with the Falkville Police Department arrested Dana Edward Aills for failing to comply with laws regulating sex offenders.

Aills was identified during a traffic stop by a Falkville Police Officer as a Registered Sex Offender out of Pennsylvania, and he had an active warrant out of Washington state which was not extraditable.

Falkville Police notified the Morgan County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender registration office, and an investigation was opened. Investigators discovered Aills last registered in Pennsylvania in April 2005 and had been in Alabama since 2006.

Aills was charged with one count of Failing to Report Intent to Move, and one count of Failing to Obtain an Alabama ID as required as a convicted Sex Offender. Other charges may be pending.
