SELMER, TN (WAFF) - A major ruling was handed down in the Mary Winkler child custody case.
Friday, a chancellor in Tennessee ordered Dan and Diane Winkler to repay $176,000 to the court of the clerk.
The money was set up as a trust fund for their grandchildren, who are Mary Winkler's three daughters.
Mary Winkler was convicted of voluntary manslaughter after she shot and killed her husband in 2006.
The Winklers were given temporary custody of their grandchildren while Mary was in police custody.
After her release, the mother regained custody of her three daughters and demanded to know what had happened to all of the money donated to the trust fund.
