
POWELL, AL (WAFF) - DeKalb County Drug Task Force Agents along with the Powell Police Department arrested two people after find meth, and items to make meth at a home on Haymon Street.
Officers received a tip of a meth lab at a home and on Tuesday, they found a one-pot cook, materials used to make meth, finished methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana.
James Alexander Ponce, 33, and Paul Matthew Kephart, 26, of Fyffe were arrested. They were charged with manufacturing controlled substance, unlawful possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
"We were able to make these arrests thanks to information obtained by Powell Police Chief Steve Dutton. We are appreciative of the relationship we have with Chief Dutton that allows us to exchange information and get these labs and products out of the community," said DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris.
Both men remain in jail awaiting bond at this time.
