COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The owner of the Highlands Prehistoric Museum in Cookeville says he's moving it to Kingsport at the end of the month.
Jerry Jacene says the museum will close its doors in Cookeville on Thursday.
Since opening in June, the museum has attracted about 3,800 guests, but Jacene says that has not been enough support to stay in the area.
He says many residents still don't know about the museum - eight out of 10 visitors have come from outlying areas, not Cookeville.
Jacene told the Cookeville Herald-Citizen he hopes to reopen in Kingsport sometime in March.
