NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - With continued high unemployment, new job search data shows more and more people are considering relocating for work.
David Businda, former director of park operations at Nashville Shores, told The Tennessean he never considered leaving Nashville before, but now he feels he has no choice. He has job interviews in Alabama, Texas and New Jersey after the first of the year.
Businda said leaving town would mean leaving behind a sick father, siblings, and nephews and nieces.
John Challenger, CEO at outplacement company Challenger, Gray & Christmas, said nearly one in five job seekers in the second quarter relocated to take a job. That is despite many job seekers' reluctance to move given fears that a new job might not last.
