KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The 20-year-old son of Knox County Law Director Bill Lockett has died after a shooting in the family's home.

Knox County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Martha Dooley told WATE-TV that William Lockett III died almost instantly in the shooting. Police were called just after 7 p.m. EST Monday.

Law Director Bill Lockett's 11-year-old son and a 12-year-old boy were in the home at the time, but the parents were away. Authorities haven't said who fired the gun.
