FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - A freshman University of North Alabama football player faces two misdemeanor charges stemming from a November shooting.
Around 2 a.m. on Nov. 20, authorities claim Lions defensive lineman Seth Alexander and another UNA student walked to a vehicle in downtown Florence, pulled out a gun, and fired two rounds into the air.
Police said Alexander and the other student told them they used the weapon to disperse a crowd that was watching a fight in front of a near by lounge.
Both 18-year-olds have been charged with reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in city limits. According to UNA officials, both students have been suspended from the school pending a judicial review.
