ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - A preliminary hearing has been waived by an accused killer in the case of a slain former Marine.
Lisa Pate, 40 was scheduled to face a judge Tuesday morning in connection with allegedly shooting and killing James Miller, 59, in November.
Investigators said Miller's wife and daughter were out of town when Pate allegedly had an argument with Miller at his home in Athens. Pate shot Miller, killing him inside the home.
Investigators claim the two were in a relationship at the time of the slaying.
