
MOULTON, AL (WAFF) - A man accused of stealing more than $30,000 worth of merchandise from an auction business in Moulton has been arrested by Lawrence County Sheriff's Investigators.
Jerry Charles Ford is charged with two counts of Burglary Third Degree and two counts of Theft of Property First Degree.
Investigators say Elam is being charged in connection with two different break-ins at Elam Creek Acution on County Road 213 in Moulton on December 1st and 2nd.
Ford was questioned about the crimes after Lawrence County Investigators got a tip from the Colbert County Sheriff's Department.
Investigators traveled to Colbert County and they found Ford driving an Isuzu Cargo truck which was believed to have been used during the break-ins. Some stolen property was found in the truck. Ford was questioned and led investigators to two mini-storage buildings in Muscle Shoals filled with stolen merchandise. Investigators say Ford then gave a full confession to his involvement in the crime.
He's jailed in Lawrence County. A bond has not been set.
