Athens woman involved in overnight crash

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A woman is recovering Friday morning after a serious overnight accident.

It happened around midnight on Elkton Road in Limestone County. State troopers say a woman lost control of her vehicle, went off the road, and hit a tree.

Fire crews had to extricate her from the wreckage. Medflight flew her to Huntsville Hospital in serious condition.

Troopers believe she will survive her injuries. Her name has not been released.
