DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Austinville United Methodist Church is known for feeding those people who need a little help. But it's another group of people who also benefit from the goodness of people here and from Epic Church.
Those people are Morgan County prisoners. While they may not have their freedom, they are told there are people who care about them.
Decatur native Cody Clemons said he's grateful.,
"Well, it's very nice for us, you know," Clemons said. "It's very kind of them to take time out of their Thanksgiving to make us have a happy Thanksgiving."
Danville native Wesley Aldridge agreed.
"It's really good to come out, and I'm really thankful for all these people putting all this stuff together for us," Aldridge said.
Gregory Robinson is a New York native who was thankful for southern hospitality and Christian giving.
"Well, this whole situation is a blessing for all the brothers and the guys in the jail, you know they don't get out too often. But those of us in stripes, we get to move around and so it's God's work in the flesh for us to bless us to come together and eat with them," Robinson said.
Epic Church also fed prisoners in Lawrence County Thursday.
