NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Travelers are on the roads to visit family members for the Thanksgiving holiday and Tennessee is seeing its share of out-of-state license plates.
Pam Walker and her family of 5 had just arrived in Nashville early Wednesday after a trip of more than seven hours from Muskegon, Mich., to visit her son.
They met him, Bill King, at a Waffle House for breakfast.
Asked if they were staying with King for the 6-day visit, King smiled and said the family was really saving on this trip.
At a convenience store in Nashville, Phil Peebles and traveling to Foley on the Alabama gulf coast to visit family members. He was making the 700-mile drive from Cincinnnati in one day.
Asked why he chose to visit down south, Peebles said, "It's warmer down there."
