MOULTON, AL (WAFF) - Eight people are charged with burglary after Lawrence County investigators said the culprits hit several homes and business.

All the crimes happened on the east side of Lawrence County, including East Lawrence High School. Investigators credited the public for solving the case.

A citizen called in a tip about a vehicle description involved in two of the thefts. From that tip, investigators were able to develop a suspect. Later, they learned there was more than one person involved.

Some of the burglaries were residential. One was at a convinience store and another at East Lawrence High School.

Investigators recovered some of the merchandise stolen, such as shotguns, pistols and a flat-screen television.

Eight people - four adults and four juveniles - were arrested. Investigator Tim McWhorter said the crimes date back as far as June and that the suspects knew each well.

A John Deer Gator taken from the school was found burned. The guns and flat-screen TV were returned to their owner.

Investigators said two more arrests are expected.
