Volunteer firefighters from Elkmont, Piney Chapel, and Owens all responded to the call a little before four Wednesday afternoon.
It happened on West Clearmont Drive, which is just off Jefferson Street near Elkmont in Limestone County.
The home was gutted by fire.
The family who lives there has a total of eleven children, nine who live in the home. The American Red Cross is helping the family deal with this tragedy.
No one was seriously injured in this fire, but we're told a few firefighters were treated for minor smoke inhalation.
