Condo drops claim against McNair estate

Associated Press - November 10, 2009 9:55 AM ET

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Nashville condominium complex has dropped its claim against the estate of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair.

McNair was a co-signer on the lease of a condo on Parthenon Avenue for his cousin, Raymond White, although a woman was living there. Authorities said McNair was shot by his mistress, 20-year-old Sahel Kazemi, on July 4 before she shot herself. Friends said Kazemi suspected McNair, who was married, was having a second affair with another young woman.

Gianikas Property Management filed a claim against his estate for about $1,750 in back rent and property damages and the case was supposed to be argued Tuesday, but the two parties came to an agreement.

The attorney representing the condo complex told The Tennessean that they decided to pursue White instead.
