FORT PAYNE, AL (WAFF) - A routine traffic stop lead to the discovery of a mobile meth lab.
Three people are behind bars after investigators discovered the lab.
Investigators said the suspects bought ingredients at one shopping center.
When they traveled to a second business to buy more, they were caught.
Inside the trunk of the car was a lawn mower and a mobile meth lab.
Investigators said these criminals didn't do a good job of hiding what they were up to.
Patrol Officer Randy Arnold said he was amazed when he saw the meth lab.
"With the lawn mower sticking out of the trunk, and products and ingredients in the back of the trunk, it goes to show what methamphetamine does to your logic of your sense," Arnold said.
Police Commissioner Ron Ogletree said these meth labs are on the rise in Fort Payne.
"This is our second shake-n-bake in one week's time that our officers apprehended. One being at a local motel and one being in the trunk of a car," Ogletree explained.
Officers arrested 27-year-old Jeremy Alan Wilbanks, 38-year-old Arthur David Bryant, and 31-year-old Felicia Jane Harvey.
All three were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
