Murfreesboro guardsmen returning from year in Iraq

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Army National Guard's 269th Military Police Company, from Murfreesboro, is returning after a year in Iraq.

Approximately 170 soldiers are due to arrive at the Guard's volunteer training site in Smyrna on Friday evening, although the time and location are subject to change. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

According to a release from the Guard, approximately 18,000 Tennessee Army and Air Guardsmen will have deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan by January 2010.
