
ATHENS, AL (WAFF) - Nearly 50 pounds of marijuana are off the streets after a major drug bust.
The Limestone County Sheriff's office, along with agents from Lawrence County, Madison and Madison County seized the drugs.
The bust comes after months of surveillance on a home at Plantation East off Mooresville Road.
Along with the marijuana, agents confiscated seven vehicles and hundreds of dollars in cash.
"We know we have a major supplier as well as someone who has been brining it to Limestone County and then the person basically whole selling it out from his residence in Limestone County," said Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely.
"I think two of your major dealers are in Lawrence County," he continued.
Six people were arrested in this bust. All are being held on drug charges in the limestone county jail.
