MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A man accused of stealing a truck while intoxicated is now behind bars.

48-year-old Dewaine Elton Ott of Falkville was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle from the Morgan County Commission District 3 Shop on Highway 55 West.

Sheriff Greg Bartlett said during the early morning hours of Halloween Ott pulled out in front of a Morgan County Deputy and weaved in and out of lanes heading to I-65.

The deputy pulled the truck over and during the traffic stop Mr. Ott stumbled out of the driver's seat and yelled, "I just stole this truck."

Mr. Ott was arrested for theft of the motor vehicle and several traffic violations, including DUI.
