TOWN CREEK, AL (WAFF) - A Town Creek man is in serious condition after he was beaten with a baseball bat.

Lawrence County authorities said the victim was attacked in his home on County Road 236 in the Hatton community in Town Creek.

It happened Saturday night.

Investigators said Christopher Steven Jackson went to the man's home because he thought he stole some items from him two weeks ago.

Authorities said Jackson was armed with a baseball bat and struck the victim several times.

Jackson is charged with assault. Monday he was out on bond.
