DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - There are 140 classes for all ages to compete.
Ranking from amateur all the way to professional division.
At the end of it all there will be a world champion named.
Frank and Gary Miller grew up together in Illinois. They have been best friends since childhood, but they are not related.
But they are close enough now in retirement for Gary to support Frank and his entry into competition here.
"This is the big show of all, right here, you know," said Frank.
"This is the granddaddy of all of them down here. This is where they crown the world champion," agreed Gary.
It isn't just the horses competing.
Barns where the horses are housed are also involved in a decorating contest.
Bee McAdams said they lug everything from south Alabama in Shorterville.
"We just like for it to look nice and look like we're at home," said McAdams.
"My wife and I we really enjoy it. She gets into the decorating more than I do. I give her the credit for it," said Dewey Hannon of Amory Mississippi.
Hannon said they won the contest a couple of years in a row.
The celebration ends with the naming of the world champion. Shows are nightly at 6:30 p.m.
