CENTER POINT, Ala. (AP) - A 7-year-old Remlap girl has drowned after falling into a swimming hole.

Jefferson County sheriff's spokesman Lt. Rand Christian said deputies and the Center Point Fire Department responded to a call to Turkey Creek around 12:24 p.m. Saturday. But he said they were unable to revive Jakquline Tuberville.

She was pronounce dead on arrival at Children's Hospital.

Christian said a deputy helped the girl's mother and older sister look for her. The deputy spotted the girl in the water and jumped in to pull her out.

Christian said none of the family members could swim.
