Shots fired during burglary at Franklin County pharmacy

FRANKLIN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Sheriff's deputies searched for a person who allegedly shot at a police officer Friday morning.

The incident occurred at Phil Campbell Drugs on Highway 237. Police said when an officer arrived at the pharmacy, he ordered the suspect to come out.

The suspect then fired shots at the officer, hitting his patrol car. The robber then ran into a wooded area.

The officer suffered minor injuries from flying debris.

Officers were still searching for the suspect late Friday morning. At last check, Phil Campbell High School was on lockdown. Classes have been canceled at the Phil Campbell campus of Northwest Shoals Community College.
