Neighbors question what happens at private club

MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Investigators are taking a closer look at a deadly weekend shooting.

It happened in the parking lot of a private club on Ford Circle in Madison County.

Investigators have yet to make an arrest, and WAFF 48's attempts to locate the property owners for more information were unsuccessful.

A trail of beer bottles leaves many families guessing what happens at the end of Ford Circle.

It's a dead end that many people in the area avoid.

"I ain't never been down there," said George Stewart.

"I don't ever go over there," said Robbie Parikh.

WAFF 48 News ventured to the private club to find out more about a weekend shooting.

Madison County Sheriff's crime scene tape and gloves sit in a trash can.

Investigators say 27-year-old Michael Washington was shot to death in a parking lot outside this private club early Sunday morning.

"About a hundred people down there," said Stewart.

Robbie Parikh and his family sleep with the fan on to mask the overnight noise.

"You can see the car lights going in there at night," said Parikh. "The thing that bothers me the most is that when the bars close, just tons and tons of cars start pulling back in there. We've actually called the dog pound because we've found dogs tied up in the woods."

The activities remain a mystery to those who steer clear of the property, but the weekend's crime leaves families with one request.

"Shut it down. Tell the neighborhood what's back there, what's right behind our house," said Laurie Addis.

"Yeah. Shut it down," agreed Parikh.
